This is the last blog before the Great North Run! The last two weeks of my training I have stopped all weightlifting, and will just be doing running and cardio until the big day.
The only weights I will be doing will be my legs to build leg strength. I have all my equipment, including the tag that tracks me from the start to the finish of the race, my number belt, mobile device holder for my music, mini water bottles that attach to my belt and finally my pouch for holding my secret weapon - Jelly Babies!!
These will help replace my body's sugar levels whilst I run and I will need to sip water every 2 miles.
I have had my gait analysis done and have bought running shoes that match the way I run.
The fundraising has gone well and Gladstone Brookes have now put me on their website to help raise funds even further. They have also said whatever I raise they will double, I have had a lot of help from my work. They have done everything to help me get ready for this race, so a big thank you goes out to everyone involved at Gladstone Brookes.
The only other thing I can say now is wish me luck and if you have not yet donated now is the time.
I will do one last blog after the race to share the final fundraising total and race experience with you all.
So thank you everyone for your support, and remember you only live once, so make the best of your life and help others along the way.
Thanks
