Why you should claim for PPI Mis selling

Let’s be clear about this, when you have been mis sold a PPI policy you have been ripped off.  A study by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) found that PPI mis selling of PPI nets the Banks and Building Societies of the UK:

£5 billion profit a year!

Of the policies that they sell, only 18% of people who claim on policy successfully recover money.

Banks are making £5billion a year misselling PPI that you either don’t want, don’t need and doesn’t work! But just out of interest, what will £5billion get you in today’s UK?

  • 10% of  the £50billion bailout package given by you, the taxpayer, to the banks
  • 247,218 New Nurses
  • 17 Brand New Hospitals
  • Proposed 2009 £1billion bonus package for rescued bank Royal bank of Scotland for the next 5 years!

The 82% who are unsuccessful in their claim are being let down by an insurance policy that they have paid for to protect them, in their hour of need but lets them down because the bank sold them a policy that wouldn’t protect them in their circumstances.

At Gladstone Brookes we think mis selling PPI is wrong.  To find out more fill in our mis sold PPI claim form or ring 08000 461 825.

What’s wrong with Banks making profit?

In a word, nothing!

Banks are businesses and the purpose of a business is to make profit.  However, they have been making huge profit, knowingly selling PPI as with every loan, credit card and mortgage their customers sign up for.

PPI has been sneaked into the purchase, customers have been lied to, pressurised and mis sold PPI by the very companies that customers have come to rely on – making banks a huge profit in the process.

Gladstone Brookes has no problem with banks making a profit – just not by knowingly mis selling customers a product they can’t use and adding huge amounts to repayments!

But PPI covers me if something happens...

Does it?

We have dealt with 1000’s of people who have lost their jobs and they weren’t eligible to make a claim under the terms of the policy, here are some of the reasons:

•    Claims turned down due to being self employed
•    Claims rejected due to being unemployed when policy was taken out
•    Inability to work caused by a pre existing condition - the policy excluded this as a valid claim

The point is that if a bank is going to sell you this Personal Protection Insurance, they are obligated to make sure that it is right for your personal circumstances.
