It goes without saying that 2020 has been a pretty awful year for most of us and Christmas will be a very different affair than it has been in previous years.
So instead we handed over the £1,000 collected from staff dress-down and boosted by the management to the appeal organisers Smart Storage so they could buy the toys themselves which was undertaken by Allison Crane who also organised dropping off the gifts to this year’s recipients.

Chris Stevens, CEO of Smart Storage said; “We are delighted to be co-ordinating the Christmas Toy Appeal once more. The appeal has run for nearly 15 years and each year it just gets better.
“Although we have not been able to run the appeal in quite the same way this year – the donations have still come flooding in. Led by Alli from our store in Warrington, the appeal has seen donations exceed expectations and we’ve been able to support all the local charities we hoped in a safe and COVID compliant way.
“Gladstone Brookes has been a great support to the appeal over very many years and we continue to be bowled over by their kindness and generosity. This year has been no exception and we’re really delighted that they have chosen to support the appeal once more.
“Perhaps their bigheartedness is even more keenly felt by us, the children and families supported by the local charities benefitting from the appeal. We know that people are struggling and this year there are many more who are dependent upon charitable support than ever before.
“A very big thank you to the team at Gladstone Brookes.”
This year the Appeal is supporting UTC Warrington, Home Start, The Seashell Trust, Beaumont Primary School in Warrington and the Starlight Children’s Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital.
“This latest donation means Gladstone Brookes has donated £4,820 to charities in our local region throughout 2020.”
