Dream wedding

“I’ll never forget the day we got the cheque. Toby thought we wouldn’t get very much, but the claims on all the loans paid out and we got back over £8,200. Suddenly the dream wedding was back on again. We couldn’t believe it!”

The plan had always been for Toby and Amber to have a white wedding in a marquee with both their families and friends there to help them celebrate.


“We had put off laying any definite plans because we wanted everything to be perfect. The idea was to get the house and then start saving for the wedding, but that couldn’t happen after I lost my job. Now we had enough money for the wedding we wanted with the marquee and the big white dress. It was unbelievable,” she recalls.

Terms and Conditions


  1. Gladstone Brookes Ltd. (Company number 06278129) whose registered office is Railex Business Centre, Crossens Way, Marine Drive, Southport, Merseyside, PR9 9LY (the "Promoter") is operating a photography competition named "Money Memories" (the "Promotion"). These terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") govern the operation of the Promotion.

Notice of the Promotion

The Promotion and the Terms and Conditions will be available on the Promoter's Facebook Fan Page at: https://facebook.com/GladstoneBrookes


  1. Information on how to enter form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by the person entering the Promotion (the "Entrant"). In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Promotion materials and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail, govern and control.
  2. The Promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom who are 18 years of age or older as of April 18th 2016.
  3. Employees of the Promoter, its affiliates, suppliers, distributors and their immediate families as well as the partner agency associated with the Promotion (namely, mycleveragency Ltd a company registered in Scotland under no SC359459 located 3b Tariff Street, Manchester, M1 2FF (the "Agency")) are ineligible to enter.
  4. Entry is free, without any obligation to purchase any product.
  5. To enter, Entrants must complete the online application and upload a story (text, photo or both) between midnight on April 18th 2016 and 23:59 on May 31st 2016 (the "Entry Period")
  6. An independent third party judge will assess each entry made and choose the "best" story, which will include both a picture and written story, or a video. The judge's decision will be final. The judge's decision will be 7 days after the closing date
  7. The winners will selected as soon as reasonably possible & announced on the promoters Facebook page & website.
  8. The winners will be notified by email by the Promoter or the Agency, and by entering the Promotion, the Entrant irrevocably consents to being contacted by email.
  9. Not more than one (1) entry per email address during the Entry Process
  10. Not more than one (1) Prize per winning story will be granted during the Promotion.

The Prizes

  1. There is a prize to be awarded to the winner. The prize consists of one payment worth £500 (each being a "Prize").
  2. The Prize must be taken as promoted. The Prize, or any unused portion of the Prize, is not transferable or exchangeable.
  3. In the event that the Prize is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute it in its sole discretion to the same and equal recommended retail value and/or specification.
  4. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prize.
  5. The Promoter requires proof of a PPI payout by the Winner

Validity of entries

When submitting photographs each Entrant agrees that they will comply with the following conditions:

  1. The Entrant will only submit photographs that are un-manipulated and real. The Entrant will not digitally enhance or alter their photographs (beyond the basics needed to achieve realistic colour balance and sharpness). Cropping is acceptable.
  2. The Entrant must have the permission of each person contained within the photograph or video to enter the photograph in the competition.
  3. Images showing product branding, logos, and trademarks will be disqualified.
  4. Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud.
  5. The Entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted photographs or videos are original works created solely by the Entrant, that the photographs or videos do not infringe the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photographs. The photographs or videos must not contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
  6. Copyright and other rights in the entry will belong to the Entrant. However, the Promoter will have the following rights in relation to the entry.
    1. The Promoter shall have the right, without seeking express permission from the Entrant, to use the entry and any information supplied by the Entrant on the Promoter's Facebook page.
    2. The Promoter will have the non-exclusive right, in perpetuity, without additional review or compensation to the Entrant, to announce, reproduce, publish, transmit publically, exhibit, print, distribute or screen the entry
    3. If the Promoter wishes to use the entry for purposes other than those described above, it must obtain permission from the Entrant.
    4. The promoter shall have the right to use the entry in promotional activity, including advertising of services
  7. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner and to award the Prize to another entry (by choosing the next most voted for entry within the relevant category) if:
    1. the winner breaches any part of the present Terms and Conditions;
    2. the Promoter realises, or has reasonable grounds to suspect, that the entry submitted by the Entrant is not authentic.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility if a third party downloads the entry from its Facebook Fan page and reuses it on the web or elsewhere.

If it is judged that an Entrant has breached these Terms and Conditions, the Entry will be deemed invalid and no notice will be given.

The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any Entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.

Personal Information

The Entrants must accept that their name, Facebook profile picture and/or likeness may be announced in the Promoter's literature or on the Promoter's website for publicity or advertising purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

By entering the Promotion, each Entrant consents to the information they submit, being entered into a database [for the purposes of the operation of the Promotion only] / [and the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the Entrant]. All personal details of the Entrants will be stored at the office of the Promoter and/or the Agency. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to such offices.


  1. It is expressly stated that the Internet is not a secured network. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees, agents and affiliates (including the Agency)) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoters control); (b) any theft, unauthorized access or third party interference; (c) any entry or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in Prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Entrant; and/or (f) use of the Prize.
  2. By entering the Promotion, any Entrant hereby represents and warrants that he/she has read these Terms and Conditions and is fully familiar with its content.
  3. If the Promoter or the Agency has any claim made against it by any third party as a result of any entry made by an Entrant (EG due to a breach of copyright or due to not having all relevant permissions to submit a photograph) the Entrant agrees that it will indemnify and keep indemnified the Promoter and the Agency against any claims, losses, damages or expenses suffered by or incurred by the Promoter or the Agency arising out of such claim.

Modification and/or interpretation of the Terms and Conditions

  1. If the Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law a) to disqualify any Entrant or b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion as appropriate c) replace an Entrant with an alternative entry in the case of disqualification.
  2. The Promoter will settle, in its sole discretion, any question relating to the application of the Terms and Conditions or any question that may arise, unresolved by the latter. These settlement decisions will be final. Independence from Facebook
  3. The Promoter is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. By accepting these terms and conditions each Entrant fully releases Facebook from any liability arising from, or connected to, the Promotion. All data collected during the submission stage of the competition is the property of the Promoter, not Facebook.

Governing law and Jurisdiction

The Promotion and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and any Entrant irrevocably agrees that the courts of London shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with the Promotion or its subject matter or formation (save that residents in Scotland or Northern Ireland will be able to elect to have matters heard in the courts of Scotland or Northern Ireland respectively).
